HS2 Compounds

Description:

High Speed Two (HS2) is the Government’s proposal for a new, high speed north-south railway. The proposal is being taken forward in phases: Phase One will connect London with Birmingham and the West Midlands. Phase 2a will extend the route to Crewe. Phase 2b will extend the route to Manchester, Leeds and beyond (the ‘Proposed Scheme’).

As part of the enabling works for the above scheme. Balfour Beatty were contracted to set up several compounds across the Northwest to facilitate the site investigation works.

Subcontract works:

TPS completed site investigation compounds at Swynnerton and Manor Farm for Balfour Beatty.

TPS scope of works included the following:

  • Earthworks cut / fill
  • Supply and install geotextile
  • Supply and installation Type 1 MOT
  • Drainage
  • Ducting
  • Reinstatement on completion of Balfour Beatty SI works.
