Description:

Construction of 2 temporary Satellite compounds at Junctions 12 & 19 of the M60.

The compound at J12 was the smaller of the two and involved adapting and extending existing hard surfaces to form parking and cabin areas and the provision of a GRP substation including base.

The Junction 19 compound was a completely new facility with an access constructed off the existing roundabout A large vehicle parking area, cabin and welfare zone along with materials storage and waste disposal temporary storage area was constructed including earthworks shaping granular pavement foundation, drainage, ducting, paving and edgings. The works where carried out between November 2015 and March 2015 ready for the permanent construction works to commence in spring 2015.

SCOPE OF WORKS:

Earthworks: Topsoil strip and cut & fill in preparation for Stabilisation including excavation of extensive soft spots.

Pavement: Placing of 6500 m3 of 6F5, 3500 m3 of MOT. Supply and installation of geogrid to all areas.

Drainage: Compound and Car Park drainage along with ducting, 3 no septic tanks and water supply pipe.

Ancillaries: Supply and installation of 2No GRP substation Units & construction of 3 No Bellmouth Entrances.

CONTRACT CONSTRAINTS:

Restricted access to the site from the M60 Motorway & Junction 19 roundabout.
Works carried out November to March.
