Description:
The Trafford Waters project aims to create, a new sustainable community across 53 acres of land on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal adjacent to Trafford City. The regeneration will create 3,000 new homes for 5,000 key workers, young professionals and families. It will be one of Greater Manchester’s largest mixed-use developments supported by a new school, health centre, 800,000 sq ft of commercial office and work space, convenience retail set in attractive public spaces.
Subcontract works:
TPS were invited to competitive tender by Luddon Construction and were awarded the Earthworks package.
This consisted of a large cut / fill to the development site, with the initial 300mm of excavation subject to Archaeological constraints.
Following the completion of the earthworks cut & fill, TPS were asked to complete road formation works, supplying and placing subbase to underside of surfacing.
TPS scope of works included the following:
- Site clearance
- Topsoil strip
- Earthworks cut / fill
- Supply and install geotextile
- Supply and installation of Type 1 MOT
