Description:
The works at Castleton & Rossendale WwTW are complementary to the United Utilities (UU) Asset Management Programme 7 (AMP7) improvements project. AMP7 is a major programme of works to provide new assets, together with refurbishing and upgrading existing United Utilities assets across the region as required by the water industry regulator OFWAT (Office of Water Services) to be implemented between 2020 – 2025.
Subcontract works:
TPS were initially approached by VolkerStevin C2V+ to tender for the roads, kerbing and surfacing package at Castleton WwTW. After the award and successful completion of the project, TPS were invited to complete similar a similar package at Rossendale WwTW, which involved preparation of the existing roads requiring extensive planing and subbase import, followed by kerbing and surfacing.
TPS scope of works included the following:
- Site clearance
- Removal of damaged kerbs
- Supply and installation of Type 1 MOT
- Supply and installation of kerbs
- Planing as required
- Adjustment of existing ironwork
- Supply and installation of binder and wearing course
- Working around live UU site constraints (tanker movements etc.)
