We complete all elements of road construction to underside of surfacing, including site clearance, drainage and ducting, earthworks, footways, kerbs and pavement subbase. We can supply all materials and disposal options to suit our clients’ requirements.

Our management team has extensive experience in highways infrastructure, with our Contracts Managers previously holding Project Manager / Site Agent / Senior Engineer roles within some of the largest highways Contractors in the UK. Description:

The works at Castleton & Rossendale WwTW are complementary to the United Utilities (UU) Asset Management Programme 7 (AMP7) improvements project. AMP7 is a major programme of works to provide new assets, together with refurbishing and upgrading existing United Utilities assets across the region as required by the water industry regulator OFWAT (Office of Water Services) to be implemented between 2020 – 2025.

South Heywood Link Road

Description:

The South Heywood Link Road Scheme comprised the construction of a 2.2km link road from Junction 19 of the M62 motorway to the employment areas off Pilsworth Road.

An infrastructure priority for both the local council and Transport for Greater Manchester (TFGM), the link road has provided HGV traffic from the South Heywood employment area – and its numerous logistics parks – with a dedicated route to the motorway, 17km shorter than the existing return journey, and directing HGVs away from Heywood Town Centre, Birch and other local roads.

Warrington East Phase 2 & 3

Description:

Warrington Borough Council (WBC) needed to improve infrastructure, congestion and journey quality in east Warrington, and so commissioned a programme of works to improve journey times and ease congestion for vehicle traffic, reduce the overall journey times and enhance the benefits for cyclists and pedestrians.

Warrington East Phase 2 consisted of improving traffic flow in and out of the Birchwood Park Enterprise Zone, with major works planned around the Blackbrook Avenue roundabout; the College Place roundabout; and Oakwood Gate roundabout. All works were completed under Traffic management restrictions where access through the Junctions / roundabout remained open to road users.

Warrington East Phase 3 consisted of the dualling of the A574 Birchwood Way between the Moss Gate/Daten Avenue junction and M62 junction 11. The new carriageway has been constructed on land reserved for this purpose since the Northern Expressway was first built in the mid-1970s as part of the Warrington New Town highway network.

A6 Broughton Bypass

Description:

The A6 Broughton Bypass eases congestion in Broughton Village, which had over twenty thousand vehicles passing through it every day. The project delivered two kilometres of new road and five junction improvements, including building a roundabout within the live carriageway and a new junction joining the M55 Junction 1 eastbound slip road.

Western Gateway Infrastructure Scheme

Description:

Western Gateway Infrastructure Scheme (WGIS) is part of a wider project to increase road network capacity and improve transport links over the Manchester Ship Canal to support development.

Working in joint venture, Hochtief and Buckingham Group built 2km of dual carriageway from the A57 to Bridgewater Circle, improved roundabouts at junctions10 and 11 of the M60 and widened roads leading to the Trafford Centre. We also built two bridges, including a 50m lifting bridge over the Manchester Ship Canal.

Wolverhampton I54 Earthworks

Description:

Working adjacent to the New Jaguar Engine factory this project was the second phase of the construction of a vital link between the new prestigious Enterprise Zone and Junction 2 of the M54.

This required building two new bridges and widening the existing canal bridge to facilitate the new link roads to the Motorway. Two large embankments were required to be constructed using existing material from the site.

As well as the new access link roads to the motorway, four additional roundabouts and associated roads were constructed at the same time.

Beacon Business Park Stafford

Description:

Construction of an online roundabout on the A518 and associated link roads to the New Beacon Business Park in Stafford.

Work initially started with 278 works on the A518 all carried out under traffic management on restricted hours. This work allowed traffic flows to be maintained whilst the rest of the works were undertaken.

Alterations to drainage, excavation of new carriageway ,roundabout and spur roads were undertaken. Drainage including a twin 450mm drainage pipeline to act as flood retention system was installed. Extensive ducting ,capping, MOT, kerbs, edgings and tactile paving followed. TPS carried out all of these works on a labour, plant and materials basis. Careful segregation and handling of arisings resulted in a reduction in imported capping layer material.
